In this online class, we’ll analyze various comics and films in order to understand some of the tropes, methods, and techniques used to make great horror stories as well as the reasons behind our desire to be scared. The students will learn how to craft a great horror story using these themes and elements. Students will learn aspects of story structure to help craft their tales.  Everyone will finish a detailed outline for their story. The outlines can be for short films, short comics, features or short graphic novels (about 120-140 pages). The class will meet live in an online platform TBA and will be recorded so that students can re-listen to it later or can listen for the first time if they can’t be in the class live.
